Advanced Color Vision Testing

Eight-percent of all males have a color vision deficiency there are currently several tests available and approved  by the FAA for color vision testing. Some of these tests screen for very slight color vision deficiencies while others screen for moderate to severe deficiencies. Therefore if you have a slight color deficiency it is imperative that as a profesional pilot you take the proper color vision test. The Farnsworth Lantern the Dvorine Pseudoischchromatic plates, and the American Optical HRR 2nd edition color plates are the most suitable tests for any airman with a mild color deficiency. While these tests are all approved by the FAA to meet their color vision standards these products have been out of production for many years but are available at OhioAME.
